Helping adults and families

Our family support service recognises the need to open doors to children and families from many different homes and cultural backgrounds and treat them all with equal respect and value.

Safe Space for All

We believe that everyone should feel safe to be themselves, our centres offer this Safe Space for all - a safe, non-judgmental, open and relaxed atmosphere where you can be comfortable being who you are.

We believe it is important to understand the needs of people from all ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds. We aim to be socially inclusive in our practice.  We aim to support young people, children and families with advancing their understanding of race, culture and identity and mental well being, in order to empower young people.

We support LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and those questioning their sexual or gender identity) children, young people and their families in the UK. Our service strives to be safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ young people, providing direct support to LGBTQ children and young people around their gender and sexual identities. We also work with parents, carers and families. Our staff are fully trained in implementing SafeZone within our centres and our training raises awareness of LGBTQ lives, promotes inclusion and tackles homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying.

All centres have secure access and Safeguarding rules and guidelines are followed.

Risk assessments are undertaken on the buildings, rooms, and individual events covering security, health and safety as well as safeguarding and individual needs.

We are continually striving to improve our communication methods in order to remove barriers for the families we work with where English is not their first language. In light of this we have translated key documents relating to the services that families will receive into the following 9 different languages: Albanian / Czech / Polish / Portuguese / Romanian / Swahili / Thai / Turkish / Urdu

Our downloadable links for each language can be found here: Language Documents
